on paper

We are not bankrupt or in debt.

It is just that we had been going in circles talking about saving more for a few years now and well, that conversation is getting old.

Like quitting smoking for some people.

---

Lists. Lists are good.

I think seeing anything written down makes things more official. That is just me.

Anyways, perhaps listing my purchases would actually get me to spend less. I know some people trying to lose weight actually have food journals.

Maybe, if I had a shopping journal, things will change.

---

I am not a big spender or anything--we are talking hundreds rather than thousands per month, I just feel that I can prepare for my future better if I made a few adjustments.

---

I'm thinking of going cold turkey now and see where that leads me next year.

I've got a feeling that this would be one of the most rewarding projects in the long run, not only financially but more importantly coping with living with less.

---

A couple of weeks back, a friend was telling me that her Dad went to her room, opened her closet and said "There, right there, is your retirement!" while narrowing his eyes on her overflowing wardrobe.

That is what I'm talking about.
